Software Alliance Wales Wins Special Recognition Award from CompTIA
Contribution to advancing the IT industry in Wales recognised at conference in London
Swansea & London, UK: 12th November 2014:
Software Alliance Wales, an EU-backed project lead by Swansea University, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the CompTIA Special Recognition Award for Advancing the IT Industry in Wales. For the past four years, the project has been dedicated to offering CompTIA’s Trustmark programme to Welsh IT businesses and had its achievements in doing so recognised by CompTIA at its EMEA Partner and Members Conference in London on 6th November 2014. TeenTech’s Maggie Philbin presented the award to the project director, Neal Harman.
Software Alliance Wales and CompTIA have been working in partnership for the last four years to deliver their IT Business Trustmark and Accredit UK Trustmark+ accreditations to IT companies across Wales. The project provides guidance and financial support to achieve these prestigious industry accreditations and in turn enables IT companies to competitively position themselves and build stable business foundations for the future. This helps to develop a strong, sustainable and growing IT sector in Wales.
Vaughan Shayler,Director,Channel Strategy, at CompTIA said, “CompTIA is pleased to present this special recognition award to Software Alliance Wales who have supported the significant adoption of CompTIA Trustmarks within Wales. The impact of the support provided by Software Alliance Wales is illustrated by the growing number of Trustmark+ holders that originate from Wales, representing around 25% of all Trustmark+ holders in the UK. The Welsh IT & software sector typically represents about 4%* of the total UK sector, showing that the project is clearly punching above is weight.”
